Privacy policyHow we handle your data
This page follows the spirit of Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act. We have tried to write it in plain words.
Version v1, last updated 2026/09/18. This is the first version and it will change as the service does. This page is an explanation. It is not legal advice. If the Chinese and English versions differ, the Chinese version applies.
What we collect
- The vehicle identification number (VIN), all 17 characters.
- Vehicle details: make, model, year, battery variant, mileage.
- Test data: measured battery capacity, cell voltage spread, temperature spread, fast-charge history, and the raw log file from the test.
- Photos of the pack exterior and the test site. We avoid photographing licence plates and people.
- Contact details: the name and contact information you give us on LINE, and the booking conversation.
- Test location: the address of the on-site test, used only to arrange that visit.
Why we collect it
- To run the test and produce a certificate and sticker bound to the VIN.
- To let buyers verify a certificate on the website using the VIN.
- To arrange bookings, contact you, and handle questions afterwards.
- To keep the raw measurement log as the basis for the certificate, so it can be checked if there is a dispute.
We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not use it for marketing unrelated to testing.
What becomes public
Once a certificate is published, anyone can see the following on the certificate page:
- The last 6 characters of the VIN. The full VIN is never shown.
- Model, year, battery variant and mileage.
- Test date, validity, test method and each measurement result.
- Photos of the pack exterior, and the tester's initials.
Never public: the full VIN, the owner's name and contact details, the test address, the raw log file, and our internal notes.
Anyone who knows the full VIN or its last 6 characters can find the car's certificate on the verify page. That is the purpose of the service: a buyer looking at a car can check for themselves.
How long we keep it
- Certificates and measurement data: until 2 years after the certificate expires, so that questions after a sale can be checked.
- Contact details and test address: until 1 year after the service is completed.
- After that we delete the data, or remove the parts that can identify a person.
Who can see it
- Cellproof testers see the full data while testing and handling customer questions.
- The companies that host the website and database (currently Supabase and Vercel). The data is stored on their servers, which may be outside Taiwan.
- Regulators or courts, when the law requires us to provide it.
Your rights
Under Article 3 of the Personal Data Protection Act, for the personal data we hold about you, you may:
- Ask about it or ask to view it.
- Ask for a copy.
- Ask us to supplement or correct it.
- Ask us to stop collecting, processing or using it.
- Ask us to delete it.
If you are the owner, you can also ask us to unpublish a certificate. After that the car cannot be found on the certificate page or the verify page, and the sticker on the car stops working.
Cookies and tracking
This site has no analytics and no advertising trackers. We use two cookies only. One remembers the language you chose. The other is for tester login to the staff area. Neither is used to track you.
